HF MOBILE
AND PORTABLE ANTENNA with remote tuning
3.5 to 30 MHz (50,
145 MHz)
Specification:
Antenna length=47” (without
whip), Length 3.5 to 30 MHz (6ft whip) = 108", 7(3.5) to 30 MHz (4 ft
whip) =90", Weight =5 Kg. Dias=2’6",
Power=400 W with remote tuning 3.5 to 30 MHz
How To Use:
VU2PLL HF MOBILE AND PORTABLE ANTENNA Tuning is achieved by pressing either the up or down
switch and listening for the signals that is peak in strength. This is very
noticeable and gets you very close to minimum VSWR. In VU2PLL HF MOBILE AND
PORTABLE ANTENNA fine up and down adjustments can be carried out with the
radio’s SWR meter. The antenna coil can be tuned to any frequency in the range between
3.5 – 30MHz.
Note:
VU2PLL HF Mobile
and Portable Antenna can be connected to all type of Transceivers.
Warning:
Whenever you want to change the Band or Frequency
you have to transmit the Low Power in Transceiver.
Then you have to adjust the up or down
switch to fine tune SWR 1:1.After that you can Increase the Power. Or else your Transmitter may get spoiled.

How To Use:
General:
1.
Open the package and take the antenna out.
2.
If you choose the Band or frequency Operation as
v
3.5 MHz to 18 Mhz - Use 6 Feet Whip (or) 4 feet
4mm +3feet 3mm =7feet (with joint)
v
7 MHz to 30 Mhz - Use 4 Feet Whip.
v
Use 2.5mm
Allen key to tight the Whip Screws (5mm).
3.
You have to fix Antenna using Mount (in Car),
Stand (in Portable) or Mast, Tower(Base Station). Use 24 No Spanner to tight
the Bolts and Nuts.
4.
Connect the cable (RG-213) from transceiver to
antenna. Round the cable as 6 round turns (5” Dia).
5.
In cable use PL-259 Connector to connect the
cable with Antenna connector-PL-239.
6.
Connect the DC
Cable(Above 1 sqmm cable) from Up & Down Switch Control Box with Antenna-DC
Connector.
7.
If VU2PLL HF Mobile and Portable Antenna is
visible there will be a particular mark and you have to adjust the Up &
Down Switch and make it straight to the mark. Then continue the following steps
for further process.
8.
Tuning is achieved by pressing either the up or
down switch and listening for the signals that is peak in strength. This is
very noticeable and gets you very close to minimum VSWR. In Antenna fine up and
down adjustments can be carried out with the radio’s SWR meter. The Antenna
coil can be tuned to any frequency in the range between 3.5 – 30 MHz.
Mobile (Car):
·
Fix Antenna using Mount in Bottom Body, Bumber,
Toe Hook or in any convenient portion of
Car.
·
Then follow the Points mentioned in General
Topic-1 to 8.
Portable:
·
Use Tripod or suitable stand and fix the Antenna
with appropriate radials.
·
Then follow the Points mentioned in General
Topic-1 to 8.
Base Station:
·
Use Mast ,Tower or fix it over roof, parapet
wall using clamps and with appropriate radials.
·
Performance will increase according to the
height of Antenna
·
Then follow the Points mentioned in General
Topic-1 to 8.
For Best performance:
·
Performance will increase according to the
height of Antenna and appropriate radials.
·
Use above mentioned whip for particular band
coverage.
·
Use best quality Cables like RG 213.
·
Try to fix the antenna in obstruction free area
such that there should not be any interference like Trees, Metals, Buildings
etc,..
·
For increasing the receiving performance don’t
use unfiltered electronic gadgets nearby like Induction stove, SMBS, etc,..
·
Strictly follow the point 4-General or use Balun
1:1.
Warnings:
·
As there is whip in antenna be aware of electrical
line while travelling or parking the car.
·
In case of Base station or Portable maintain
some distance from electrical Line.
·
Transmit the low power and tune the Antenna to
Minimum SWR using Up & Down switch.
